Biometric Calculator API Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Biometric Calculator API (the “API”) provided by Lincoln Cannon LLC (“Lincoln Cannon LLC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Utah limited liability company with a registered address at 50 W Broadway 333 #73216, Salt Lake City, UT 84101. By requesting an API key, creating an account, or making any call to the API, you (“you,” “Customer,” or “Developer”) agree to these Terms. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use the API.
1. Description of Service
The API provides programmatic access to three biological and chronological age calculators — ChronoAge, PhenoAge (Levine et al., PLOS Medicine, 2018), and LinAge (Fong et al., Nature Aging, 2024) — that compute age-related metrics from inputs you supply. The API returns structured numerical results based on published, peer-reviewed algorithms.
2. Not Medical Advice; No Diagnostic or Clinical Use
The API and its outputs are provided for informational, educational, research, and wellness purposes only. The API is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. API outputs do not constitute medical advice and are not a substitute for professional medical judgment, diagnosis, or treatment.
You are solely responsible for how you present, interpret, and use API outputs in your own application, including any obligation to display appropriate disclaimers to your end users. You must not represent to your end users that the API provides medical diagnosis, clinical decision-making, or treatment recommendations. If your application is intended for clinical or regulated medical use, you are solely responsible for obtaining any regulatory clearances, approvals, or professional oversight required in your jurisdiction.
3. API Keys and Accounts
- You will receive one or more API keys upon registration. You are responsible for keeping your API keys confidential and for all activity that occurs under your keys.
- You must not share, sell, sublicense, or transfer your API keys except to your own agents acting on your behalf under these Terms.
- Notify us promptly at admin@lincolncannon.co if you suspect unauthorized use of your keys.
- We may rotate, suspend, or revoke keys to protect the security or integrity of the service.
4. Plans, Usage Limits, and Rate Limits
Access is provided under the plan you select. As of the effective date, plans and limits are:
| Plan | Price | Requests per month | Rate limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $79/mo or $790/yr | 8,000 | up to 2 requests/second |
| Professional | $499/mo or $4,990/yr | 80,000 | up to 20 requests/second |
| Enterprise | $1,999/mo or $19,990/yr | 800,000 | up to 100 requests/second |
Annual plans reflect a 17% discount versus monthly. We may enforce quotas and rate limits by throttling or returning errors once limits are reached. We may change plans, pricing, and limits on prospective notice; changes do not affect the price of a paid annual term already in progress.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the API in violation of any applicable law or regulation, including data protection and consumer-protection laws;
- Use the API to provide medical diagnosis or treatment, or to make automated decisions that materially affect an individual’s access to health care, insurance, credit, or employment, without appropriate legal basis, disclosures, and human oversight;
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or derive the underlying algorithms except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law;
- Circumvent rate limits, quotas, authentication, or security controls;
- Resell or redistribute raw API access as a substantially similar standalone API-access product without a separate written agreement;
- Introduce malware, or interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the API;
- Misrepresent the source, accuracy, or scientific basis of API outputs.
6. Customer Data and Inputs
- You are responsible for the data you submit to the API (“Inputs”), including ensuring you have all rights and lawful bases necessary to submit that data and to receive the outputs.
- As described in the API Privacy Notice, the API is designed to process Inputs transiently to compute results and does not store or log the personal data contained in Inputs as part of normal operation. See the API Privacy Notice for details and limits.
- Protected health information (PHI): The API is not offered under a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement (BAA) under any current plan (Starter, Professional, or Enterprise). Do not submit PHI in a manner that requires a BAA unless and until a BAA and any required safeguards are executed in writing with Lincoln Cannon LLC. This applies regardless of the tool or application you use to call the API, including any spreadsheet template or automation platform we publish or you connect.
- Personal data of individuals in the EU/EEA/UK or U.S. state-privacy jurisdictions: Where you submit personal data of such individuals, you act as the controller (or your customer’s processor) and are responsible for providing notice and obtaining any legal basis or consent required. See the Privacy Notice regarding our role and, where applicable, a data processing addendum.
7. Intellectual Property
The API, its documentation, and the software implementing the calculators are owned by Lincoln Cannon LLC and its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to call the API and to use its outputs within your application in accordance with these Terms. The underlying scientific algorithms (PhenoAge, LinAge) derive from published research credited to their respective authors; nothing here grants rights in that third-party research beyond your own independent rights. You retain ownership of your Inputs and of your application.
8. Fees and Payment
Fees are billed through our third-party payment processor. You authorize recurring charges for your selected plan. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or expressly stated. Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of access.
9. Service Availability; Changes
We target high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the API, with reasonable notice for material adverse changes where practicable.
10. Disclaimers of Warranty
THE API AND ALL OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT API OUTPUTS ARE ACCURATE FOR ANY CLINICAL, DIAGNOSTIC, OR MEDICAL PURPOSE.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LINCOLN CANNON LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE API. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE API IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD 150. THE FOREGOING LIMITATION DOES NOT APPLY TO DAMAGES ARISING FROM A PARTY’S GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT.
12. Indemnification
You will indemnify and hold harmless Lincoln Cannon LLC from claims arising out of (a) your use of the API in violation of these Terms or law, (b) your Inputs, or (c) your representations to end users regarding API outputs, including any representation of medical or diagnostic capability.
13. Term and Termination
These Terms remain in effect while you have an active account or API key. You may terminate by cancelling your plan and ceasing use. We may suspend or terminate for breach, non-payment, or to protect the service. Sections 2, 6–7, 10–12, and 14 survive termination.
14. Governing Law; Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the API will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts. Disputes under these Terms are not subject to mandatory arbitration.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted with an updated effective date and, where appropriate, notified to account holders. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
